Avis Streicher

Avis was a neighbor when I was growing up on Central Park in Chicago. She was very good friends with my sister Sheryl.
My sister passed in 2008. I remember Avis as being a very kind person. May her memory be a blessing.

Avis and I met teaching almost 40 years ago. We went on to forge a very close relationship, eventually becoming Heather and Andrew’s Godparents, an honor I cherish. Avis and I have traveled together, laughed together, cried together and have had many arguments. She, Howard and the “kids” would come up to Hayward, WI where my late husband, Boris, and I had relocated. They would spend a week every year. Lots of fun. I miss you, Avis. Rest in peace.

Avis and I and our kids were all great friends in Des Plaines in the 80’s and 90″s. My condolences to Heather and Andrew. Avis was a wonderful caring person I will remember always

Avis and I were friends for over fifty years. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding. I was one at hers. She went on to have two children with her husband Howard, Heather and Andrew. Avis was a gifted teacher. She worked for many years in the Chicago Public School system.
She loved animals and always had pets. Although she had health challenges later in life, she still lived her life as fully as she could. I will miss my dear friend,
