Obituary

Gloria Marcowitz, née Kaplan, 96, beloved wife of the late Harry Marcowitz, happily married for 30 wonderful years; loving mother of Robert Zeman (Yvonne DeCuir); cherished Nana of Shira Zeman (Adon deGuzman), Merissa and Corinne Zeman; much loved great-grandmother of Shai; treasured friend of many. Gloria was a dedicated teacher, who was very fond of her former students, and stayed in touch with them for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s honor may be made to Hadassah North Shore, www.hadassah.org/region/chicago-north-shore. My sincere condolences to Gloria’s family. Gloria was a client of mine at American Weathermakers. I so enjoyed our conversations over the years and I always enjoyed receiving a New Years card for Rosh Hashana. We stayed in touch for a while when she moved and I have thought about her often over the last few years. May her memory be for a blessing and for inspiration to her family and to all that had the privilege to have known her.
