Obituary

Linda Rae Thomas nee Wankovsky, 75, beloved wife of David for 40 wonderful years; devoted daughter of the late Ada and Meyer Wankovsky; dear sister of Sylvia (Jerry) Karlin; treasured sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Linda carried a deep love of art throughout her life. After attending fine art school, she expressed her creativity through painting on canvas, finding beauty and meaning in every brushstroke. Her artistic spirit guided both her passions and her career, from working with art supply companies, to the display industry, and later serving the City of Evanston with dedication and care.

She also had a lifelong love for cats, always finding comfort and companionship in their presence. Above all, Linda’s heart belonged to David and her family. Time spent together brought her the greatest happiness, and she cherished the love, laughter, and memories they shared. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, caring heart, and the quiet warmth she brought to those around her.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, no memorial service will be held, and arrangements will remain private. The family appreciates everyone’s thoughts and condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. For information and to leave condolences, please contact Shalom Memorial Funeral Home at www.shalommemorial.org or (847) 255-3520.
