Obituary

Joel A. Shaffner, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away June 28, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Milton and Bernice Shaffner; cherished brother of Beryl (Bob) Block; caring uncle of Jonathan (Sari) Block and Alexis (Dave) Doneson; proud great-uncle of Jayden, Avery, and Ava; dear cousin of Charlene (Robert) Schuman; treasured friend of many. Remembering so many family gatherings , fun times with no computers, cell phones and social media! We talked, played games and we were just present.
Joel was quiet but I last visited with him at my mom’s house in Northbrook for a holiday dinner, many years ago. He was living in Atlanta and I was in Wisconsin..
