Obituary

Bertha “Betty” Berdichevsky, 88. Beloved mother, proud grandmother, treasured great-grandmother, dear sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Betty was born in Mexico and moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, more than ten years ago and recently came to Chicago where she resided at Gidwitz Place. She traveled extensively throughout her life, making friends everywhere she went. Betty was strong, independent, and lived life on her terms. She will be remembered for her tenacity, positivity, and a smile that could light up a room. She worked as a nutritionist in Mexico. Betty was an author, a bilingual secretary, a painter, a dancer, and brought joy to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Friends of Magen David Adom, www.afmda.org. Chapel service Tuesday, March 3, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park. For shiva information and to leave condolences: www.shalommemorial.org, 847-255-3520.
