Kuo Hua Chang Shen, 98, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Tom Zu Hong Shen for 26 wonderful years; loving mother of Robert Chi-Chung Shen (Li Zhou), Melody Pei Tsung Shen, Pao Chung Shen (Yi Fang Lin Shen), and the late Amy Li Tsung Shen; cherished grandmother of Frances Shen (Yung-Chuan Lee), Jimmy Lin, Tina Lin, Amy Shen (James Du), Nancy Shen (Neil Isono), and Jessie Shen; adored great-grandmother of Cadence Lee and Aryana Shen; much-loved daughter of the late Yi Peng Zhang and Tang Shi Zhang. Kuo Hua was the beloved matriarch of her family, whose love, strength, and devotion were the foundation of multiple generations. She dedicated her life to caring for those she loved most and found her greatest joy in her family. She shared 26 years of marriage with her beloved husband as they lovingly raised their four children. As her family grew, Kuo Hua embraced her role as a grandmother and later a great-grandmother with immense pride and happiness, cherishing every moment spent with them. A gifted home cook, Kuo Hua delighted in preparing delicious meals that brought her family together around the table. She also enjoyed watching her favorite television variety shows and dramas, tending to the garden and her plants, spending time at family gatherings (with lots of cake), and playing spirited games of Mahjong with family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love created countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Interment at Randhill Park Cemetery. A private service for the family will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026.
