Grandma Shirley was the best. I’ll forever remember the many dinners at her apartment, eating her red jello for dessert, never leaving her apartment without food (she insisted!), doing puzzles together, and the many golf balls she would find for me next to Sunset Valley. She was loving, caring and would always check to see how I’m doing. I will forever love you Grandma Shirley.

I have blessed memories with my wonderful cousins Aunt Shirley Uncle Calvin growing up in the family. I loved being together laughing, having fun times ,enjoying lots of food, pool parties going downtown visiting at all the stores. It was an amazing part of my life . . Aunt Shirley was always loving, caring , and making sure we were all eating lots of great home-cooked meals delicious mandel bread cookies . I will miss her and always remember all the special times that our family spent together. May her memory always be a blessing.

When I lived in Chicago, I roomed with Shirley’s son Daniel. My memories of her were echoed in the multiple eulogies given during the service. “A warm and caring individual who always put everyone else’s needs first.”

Such a huge presence in my life. My second home on Fargo Ave . So many life stories with each of her three sons, my friends. Always welcoming with a cheek pinch , a lox and bagel sandwich on Sunday, a smile , a tongue in cheek. Remembering my youth and the great memories of growing up in Rogers Park. Shirley was a wonderful part of it thus a part of me
Wonderful and lucky to have known such a woman that helped shape who I am today
Forever in my thoughts

Shirley Becker was an amazing lady…..fun and caring for everyone. She lived through things no mother should have to experience. I’m sure her family will miss her incredibly.

I always enjoyed seeing Shirley and chatting with her whenever I would get the chance.
My favorite memory was sitting next to her at Thanksgiving a number of years ago.
We talked a bit and I kept offering her the food as it came around and she said yes to everything!
She didn’t eat it all but she liked seeing her plate full of the delicious food!
