Ellen was the brightest beacon of love for The Sterns. Our family’s lives were inexorably intertwined for nearly 60 years. Burt and she were there for us in great moments of joy and during tragic heartbreaks. Ellen was our bastion of kindness, stability and friendship. Her love, big heart, and support through the years gave us hope and filled us with reciprocal love. Throughout her resurfaced illness she was an inspiration exhibiting incredible strength and courage. She leaves a wonderful legacy. Her character transcends generations of Ziskinds and Sterns. Burt, Lauren, Alex, and Aaron, we love you and we love Ellen. She already is missed and will always be warmly remembered.

Ellen was a very special friend (and fellow “cowgirl”) to me and so many others. I have known her, laughed with her, celebrated our birthday birthdays together, and cherished her as a friend for 18+ years. I will miss my (almost) monthly check-ins which we have been doing with a couple other dear friends for the past 5 years. I know that she always cherished her time with her family and was incredibly proud of her kids and grandkids. Bert and all – I’m so sorry for your incredible loss. My condolences to you all. Alesha hashalom (May peace be upon her) and Zichrona livracha (May her memory be a blessing).
