Muriel Weinstein

Muriel Weinstein, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Melvin Weinstein for 65 wonderful years; loving mother of Elaine (Jay) Kernes and David W. Weinstein; cherished grandmother of Dr. Jennifer Kernes (Nicole Nodi), Dr. Jonathan Kernes, Arielle (Jake) Roberts, and Jami Weinstein; adored great-grandmother of Chelsea Roberts; much-loved sister of the late Esther Brown and the late Max Berzack; and beloved aunt and friend to many. Muriel immigrated to the United States from Scotland in 1947, shortly after the end of World War II, aboard the legendary Queen Mary. She embraced her new home with gratitude and optimism, was proud to become an American citizen, and five years later was joyfully reunited with her parents when they were finally able to join her in the United States. Above all, Muriel was devoted to her family. She was nurturing, caring, warm, and compassionate, with a genuine love for both people and animals. Her kindness, generosity, gentle spirit, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple moments, and her unwavering love and devotion to her family will remain her lasting legacy. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always.
