Doreen Sperling

It took a village to raise us on Lowell and Dorine and Shelby were part of that village. I have many fantastic memories of them. One was Dorine yelling “Elliot, you’re dog’s out again! Max go home!”

I have so many WONDERFUL memories of Doreen, Shelby, Helene & Stacy & Joel……………. I was about 7 years old when Doreen married Shelby. Some of my favorite memories were when I would babysit Helene and Stacy. Pushing the twins in their buggy outside BONFIRE RESTAURANT at Lawrence & Kedzie when they were first born. All the times I spent at Doreen & Shelby’s apartment on Lawndale, and at their house in Skokie. All the haircuts Doreen gave me and cookies I ate (Doreen was a GREAT cook). All the wonderful times the whole family gathered together……. Too many memories to list. My first box guitar I saved my money from babysitting Helene & Stacy and also shoveling snow. I LUV all of them so much, Doreen & Shelby, Helene, Stacy & Joel.
