Hope Black

I met Hope walking out of my chiropractor appointment in Glenview one Saturday many years ago . She was doing animal readings. I went home, brought back pictures of our two dogs and my 3 girls and we amazed with our reading, not only did she read the dogs perfectly, she told us that we had a pet that did not like where it was located. It was in a corner and there was not alot of light and it was lonely. We didn’t know what she was talking about. Until we thought about it— it was a fish that was inset in a hutch in my daughters desk that was in her room. It was moved to the brightness of the kitchen after that reading. Our paths crossed on several other occasions and phone calls. I always wanted to connect with Hope again but with 4 young kids and a business, time didn’t allow. Hope was special and I am very sorry to learn of her passing which came through Terry on a message I had sent her a few months ago on Facebook but hadn’t heard back until today. I know Hope’s light will shine on through all those lives that she touched. I tell my story of meeting Hope frequently. She will not be forgotten. My sincere condolences to Terry and her family and all who knew her. The world lost a good soul. Wendy Rohrs

I did not grow up with you Hope but you found me and my twin sister about 10 years ago. I flew up to Chicago with my daughter to meet you, my niece Lindsey and nephew Joshua . We could feel the bond immediately as I discovered we shared a dad. We talked all the time and I was able to see you one other time before you became ill. You talked about moving to Florida to be close to my sister Michelle and I but unfortunately that did not happen. Even though we only had a short time together your memory will be etched in my heart forever. I love you and will miss you Big sister!

Every breath Hope took gave life to ideas, to kindness to those in need and a showering of love for all.
Hope was one in a million, she lit the way for others and carried the torch for those who couldn’t. She had MOXIE.

Hope made me laugh until I cried. Every meal was a memory, from hard as a rock scrambled eggs and burnt sausage to the greatest chocolates Hope & Abby couldn’t stop making fun of their name. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much with anyone else or enjoyed someone’s company like Hope’s (and Abby’s always a tag team).

A determined woman who gave everyone a run for their money. A mother who had a love that shined a light for her children to always find their way even in the dark.

Hope welcomed me in and always had my back in every way. From our first to our last moments together she made my world a far better place. My world is smaller now.

I know she will walk beside me and probably whisper in my ear just to scare the hell out of me for kicks and giggles. I hope she does.

I couldn’t love you more. I’ll miss you until next time we meet.

Hope was a wonderful friend and a caring horse woman that loved all animals. Horses were her first loves. She also loved people that wanted to take care of their animals and always leaned towards helping them. Developing her company was amazing and I hope it continues to grow in her honor. She was a wonderful woman, a great friend and an amazing mother and grandmother. She will be missed!♥️
