I am so saddened by the loss of Scott. I have known him since I was a child. My dad, Buddy Greenberg, was close friends with Scott’s dad, Ron, & we would go to his house and hang out together. Years passed & we reconnected at Niles East. I ‘ll always remember his kindness, his funny sense of humor & beautiful smile. Gigi (Greenberg) Gold

Over the past 35 years, Mike has shared stories about his love and respect for Scott. Mike kept me updated on Scott’s health and his pride for his brother’s courage. Mike also shared the incredible dedication for care, Lisa and Scott’s 3 children had towards Scott. Mike also shared how his parents and sister were there for Scott as well. But how difficult it was to see the fear and sadness for the sickness of their loved one. The Norris Family is so dear and special. All good thoughts and prayers to everyone connected to this family.
All our love,
Carrie, Donna, Charlie, Hannah, Ronna and Allan

It was with deep sadness that I read of Scott’s passing. I knew Scott professionally for more than thirty years and handled several cases where we were opponents. During those years, I came to know and respect Scott as not just a skilled litigator, but also as a respected colleague who always kept his word, always conducted himself ethically, and represented his clients at the highest level. I was honored when Scott asked me to write a letter of recommendation for him when he sought to join the judiciary and gladly did so. My thoughts are with his family, and I offer my condolences.

I have been friends with Scott for over 50 years. There was never a time we got together that Scott’s infectious smile and giggle did not surface. We started every interaction with “Hello Norris- Hello Werner” One of the All Time best! He will be deeply missed.

Scott and I became friends at Niles East High School. I was one year ahead of Scott. We lived less than block apart from each other. Scott joined the Niles East Wrestling Team as a Freshman, and although small in stature, became one of the most respected wrestlers on the team for each of his four years at Niles East. Why, you might ask? Because Scott was not only humble, modest, sincere, friendly, and outgoing, but Scott was the hardest worker in the wrestling room. Scott made the Varsity Wrestling squad as a sophomore, and remained on the Varsity squad for his final three years in high school. By the time Scott had become a senior, there was a growing anticipation, and confidence not only in himself, but also by the coaches, that his senior year would be something special. During his senior year, Scott would get up at 6:00 a.m. and run three miles each morning in anticipation of what would become an outstanding wrestling year for him. For those who like exercise, you will appreciate that Scott could do 100 dips in a row without stopping on the wrestling room dip bar. Scott had transformed his body into a “”miniature tank,” and it was all natural. Scott ended up going down state his senior year, which is an honor bestowed upon the best sixteen state wrestlers in a weight class. Scott wrestled in the 112 lb. weight class his senior year, went down state, and won two matches against the very best wrestlers in the state. Nobody worked harder than, nor deserved this accomplishment more than Scott. There is so much more to say about this outstanding human being, but I just wanted to share one small tidbit about Scott’s life. Scott, you will be sorely missed and always remembered with fondness.

From childhood through adulthood and over great distance Scott and I maintained our relationship. I will miss my phone call and visits with Scott. Scott was great husband to Lisa, father to the boys, lawyer and judge…to me he was a good friend who will be deeply missed.

Shari and I are heartbroken after hearing the news of Scott’s passing. I will forever remember Scott as a genuinely good person, always with a smile on his face and quick to lend a hand to those in need.
I called a friend of mine yesterday who I introduced to Scott many years ago and who Scott provided legal help to during a very tenuous time in his life. We reminisced about how his help went so far beyond the law. It was with genuine concern for his situation and they developed their own close relationship as a result, with Scott continuing to check in long after the legal matter was settled.
Here’s a happy memory of Scott playing his ukulele in my living room during one of our B’Chavana gatherings. We will forever cherish those very special years we all spent together and the special community that enabled us to truly get to know Scott and Lisa
Our deepest sympathies go out to Lisa and the whole Norris family. May his memory be a blessing.

I knew Scott for over 50 years. I also knew him professionally. He was smart, hard working, and had a big heart. I was proud to see one of our buddies become a respected judge. Hard to believe we have lost him. He was a great person and a credit to the legal profession.
