Cindy,
Your mom was a real trooper! I didn’t know her well, but it always appeared that she carried with her a real zest for life and was an amazing and kind woman. I remember her fondly as the two of you would always come to Wednesday morning minyan (2011-2015 era), and on occasion we’d all go to breakfast afterward. I recall she knew my late Uncle Milton as well. Cindy, your mom is missed and I’ve been meaning to send my condolences to you and your family. May each passing day make things a bit easier for all of you!
Sincerely,
-Marty Perlow

I had a hard time adjusting to kindergarten as I was not often away from my parents. She made the transition much easier and was kind and caring about it. I still vividly remember our cubbies, the play area and the famous shoe-choo train where you got your name in when you learned to tie your shoes. She inspired me to be a teacher. I even got to student teach at Middleton (full day kindergarten) and she happened to be there one of the days. I’m now a special ed teacher. 🙂 I was happy she knew she inspired a teacher who carries on her caring, supportive attitude. Her heart will carry on in the future as my students bring that love in their own journeys.

I received a warm welcoming from Gloria when I began teaching at Middleton in 1977. I had recently moved from Michigan so needed guidance from new friends. I will cherish the memories we created in district 73.5. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Gloria was a wonderful person and a loving teacher to so many kindergartners in Skokie.

Dear Glickson clan: Hava and I are very sorry for your loss. I loved your Mom from “Day 1” which by my rough estimate was years before Scott was shooting bombs from the corner at Niles East. Was there ever a sweeter, more beautiful couple than your Mom and Dad? Probably not. They embraced the Weissbergs as friends and co-Bethel-ites. My Father adored Gloria and he played a large role as a spiritual leader in Gloria’s life through the good and the bad. She was a trooper and smart and super fun. I loved sharing the high holidays with the clan, with the Weissbergs in the row just in front of you. I could write volumes about Gloria—everything good and remarkable. I do not want to shortchange the Weiser side of the equation because Morrie was a beautiful man and I am sure all of the super-wonderful Weisers are grieving from this loss too. Again, please know that Hava and my thoughts are with all of you in this difficult moment.

We are so deeply sorry for your loss. A mother’s love is like no other. We know losing her leaves an ache and a void difficult to heal. Please know our hearts our with you as you grieve someone who shaped your lives with her care, strength, and love. Our hope is that her memory brings you comfort and peace and even joy. Joel and I will miss her dearly. She was always so kind and thoughtful. I remember being a scared kindergarten child who found herself comforted and cared for by an angel of a dedicated and loving educator. She taught not only ABC’s , but modeled how to be a better compassionate and caring person. We will think of her often and when we do, it will be with a smile. We hope it’s the same for you. Love, Randi & Joel
