Gregory Jacobs, 75, passed away on August 31, 2026. He was born in Chicago in 1951 and was raised in Skokie. He attended Jane Stenson Elementary School and graduated from Niles North High School in 1969. He was a boy scout for several years and took great pride in his badges, uniforms and handbooks that he could not part with. Greg was an avid cyclist for many years. He rode at least one Century Ride (100 miles) every summer and rode for fund raisers every year. Greg also loved wildlife, all of the birds, squirrels and chipmunks knew our address. Greg also was quite a collector-collecting rocks and fossils and Indian art and artifacts that are displayed throughout the house. He was always excited to show his collections to everyone who came to the house. Lastly, he loved and doted over his pets- the Shelties and two wayward cats, Chauncey and Suzie. He loved spending his retirement with them and tried to adopt every stray animal that came by. Greg is survived by his wife Donna, his wonderful nephew Matthew Savage (Megan Goldish) and his loving niece Hannah (Adriel) Bienn. Greg also had four great-nephews, Scout (Leslie) Savage, Colton (Ell) Savage, Azaryah Bienn and Oshriel Bienn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Faye Jacobs, his Bubbie and Grandpa, Dora and Frank Lavander, his uncle, Henry Lavander, his sister Sharon (the late Michael) Radlove, his twin brother Mark (the late Susan) Jacobs, and his sister Janice Warsaw. The family would like to sincerely thank St. Croix Hospice. Their wonderful care and attention made Greg’s final months comfortable and peaceful. Home hospice would not have been possible without their guidance and support. They are all truly remarkable people.
