Michael Greenhill

I worked for Michael for 10 years starting in Wheeling and then the move to Lake Zurich.
It really saddens me to hear about his passing. He was a great employer and a fantastic leader of the business.
He was always so positive and that seemed to flow to most everyone in the company.
Michael was a great listener and he always had time for you. He was big Bulls fan and working Smalley and of course we went to the games. It was a hard place to leave. Even to this day I kind of wish I had just stayed there. That is how great the Greenhills treated their people. The photo above is in Catalina. I recognize it since Sheldon and Michael took some of us there for a little retreat at one time.
In many ways, the people at Smalley made me who I am today. Michael always encouraged me to take on new responsibilities. He also cared about your personal life. My father and father in law over are there in Shalom so plan to stop by and pay my respects when back in IL. To Mark, Steven, Debbie and the rest of the Greenhills, I am very sorry for your loss.

Dear Debbie,

I was so sorry to hear about Michael. Although we haven’t been in touch for some time, I have such fond memories of you both from high school and college. Michael was always warm, friendly, and such a joy to be around, and my late husband, Mike, also thought very highly of him.

I was so sorry to learn of Michael’s passing, which I only came across recently online, as I don’t check Facebook often. I’m so sorry I missed the funeral and the shiva, and I want you to know I would have been there to pay my respects had I known in time.

I always remember how deeply Michael adored you and how proud he was of the life and family you built together. I know he will be deeply missed by you, your children, and your grandchildren.

Expressing my deepest condolences to Mark, Daniel and family.
I had the privilege of knowing Michael for more than 40 years through our business relationship. Over those many years, I came to have enormous respect for him as a businessman, engineer, and person.
However, my fondest memories of Michael were outside of business. Over the years, we were fortunate enough to share a number of ski holidays together in Colorado. Michael was always great fun to be around. We shared a lot of skiing, laughter, good meals and good times, and I will always remember those trips with great affection.
