Obituary

Allan “Terry” Berk, 84, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Beloved husband and best friend of Anne (née Lev) for 62 wonderful years; loving father of Wendy (Richard) Baum, Sherri (Jim) Nusbaum, and Brian (Kerri) Berk; cherished “Gramps” of Jordan and Tyler Baum, Alex and Andrew Berk, and Danny and Carly Nusbaum; adored son of the late Abraham and Lucille Berk; much-loved brother of Suzanne Schuster; dear brother-in-law of Ron Lev; and friend to many. Terry grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and went on to attend Indiana University, where he met his beloved Anne. He proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and honor. Following his service, he built a successful career in the hardware business, ultimately owning his own company. Terry had a passion for music, a zest for life, and a playful, often downright silly spirit. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan and had a deep love of cars-especially Corvettes. Above all, he was a devoted family man who found immense joy spending time with his grandchildren at games and dance performances. He will be dearly missed not only by his family but also by his dedicated caregivers, Roger and Bert, whose compassion and care meant so much. His legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on in all who knew him. Memorial donations may be to the Epilepsy Foundation, www.epilepsy.com, or the Vision for Tomorrow Foundation, www.visionfortomorrow.org. Private service, Friday, April 3, 2026.
