Stuart Perlik was more than a remarkable physician and respected colleague—he was a good and faithful friend. To those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him and knowing him beyond the walls of medicine, Stuart was a righteous man in the truest sense of the word.
He lived with unwavering integrity, guided always by what was right rather than what was easy. In every role he held, Stuart exemplified honesty, humility, and quiet moral strength. He was steadfast in his support of colleagues, generous with his time and counsel, and unfailingly kind—especially when it mattered most.
As a physician, Stuart brought deep compassion to every patient he encountered. He saw people, not diagnoses, and treated each person with dignity, patience, and respect. His care extended beyond clinical excellence; it reflected genuine concern for the human experience of illness, vulnerability, and hope. Patients trusted him not only for his knowledge, but for his humanity.
As a colleague and mentor, Stuart was thoughtful, fair, and deeply principled. He encouraged others, stood beside them in difficult moments, and celebrated their successes without seeking recognition for himself. His presence brought calm, wisdom, and reassurance—he made institutions better simply by being part of them.
To our families, Stuart was a cherished and trusted friend. His loyalty, warmth, and gentle humor enriched our lives, and his example left a lasting imprint on all who knew him. He lived quietly but meaningfully, serving others with grace and purpose.
Stuart Perlik’s legacy is not only in the lives he healed, but in the character he modeled. He leaves behind a memory defined by righteousness, compassion, and love—a blessing that will endure in the hearts of his colleagues, friends, patients, and family. May his memory forever be for a blessing.

I have fond memories of working with Stuart during my residency VA rotations. He was a wonderful neurologist and teacher, and truly made us think about the rationale for ordering each new test. Moreover he was a very kind and caring person, a true mensch. My deepest condolences; may his memory be a blessing.

Dr. Stuart Perlik was a truly legendary physician whose extraordinary career blended clinical excellence, scholarly contribution, educational devotion, and committed leadership. We will remember him as a supportive mentor, trusted collaborator, and warm friend who advocated tirelessly for patients, trainees, and colleagues, exemplifying the rare combination of clinician, educator, leader, and humanist in medicine. I will always remember Dr. Perlik not just for his towering intellect, but for the amazing person he was: An approachable man sitting in the intraoperative monitoring room, surrounded by monitors, where he would quietly sit with a ripe plum in hand, no socks, and his distinctive hat on his head, lending a calm normalcy to a high stakes environment. He was someone I could always ask a question, where he would answer with patient clarity and a gentle smile, turning complex explanations into teachable moments and making everyone feel that no question was too small; that accessible presence, more than any title or paper, is the image of him I carry: brilliant, composed, and always approachable.

We have wonderful memories of visiting with Stuart at Alan and Rita’s home and pool. Tony and I loved our philosophical discussions whether they were about the world, Israel or medicine, Stuart was brilliant, kind and generous. May his memory be a blessing.

We will miss Stuart deeply. We spent our summers together reminiscing, sharing humorous stories, intellectualizing over current affairs and watching him float around the pool as relaxed and peaceful as could be. We shared the good times and the bad times with him over the years. He was a wonderful relative and an even better friend! He will always be in our hearts and prayers.
