In 1957, Bill mailed Cele a diamond ring with a letter that said he was coming home and they would get married. Their wedding took place shortly after Cele graduated from Senn High School. Bill returned to Berlin where he was serving as a journalist in the United States Air Force. Cele followed shortly after and worked as a nurse’s aide in Berlin. After returning stateside, Cele and Bill were stationed at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis, where they welcomed their daughter, Francine in 1962. They returned to Chicago and purchased Cele’s childhood home, in which four generations of the family have now lived. A few years later, they welcomed their son, Edward, in 1965. Cele spent the majority of her career working at a pharmaceutical company. Cele enjoyed cooking, fiber arts, reading, traveling, watching movies, and computer games.
