I met Susie at my wedding to Jim McCord 1972. George and I met in grad school. We began what has been a life-long friendship. We shared our dreams about life, our –at the time– hopes for perfect partners, and the ways to make the world better.
George came to my wedding with a plus-one: Susie. I whispered: ” I see that she is red haired, has a milky white complexion, and has freckles. Is she sweet and intellectual?” He gave me a resounding affirmation. That description had been what he confided to me were the features he hoped to find in a life-mate. And truly Susie display all those qualities with genuine virtue. The love-story they shared projected into multiple layers of their lives.
I am sad with George, Joel and Ariel.

I just loved Susie. We spent years at NCEH together, doing kids services, sisterhood, board meetings of all kinds, and Shalom Singers. Susie had the loudest, prettiest voice in the group. She learned all of the Hebrew songs I brought to her like a champ, and was the first friend to excitedly join the group. Always a smile, a joke, or an idea, always happy to do whatever was needed. Susie was so kind, cheerful and friendly. My condolences to you, George, Joel, and Ariel. I know how much you will miss her and treasure your memories.

I have so many fond memories of Susie—from family visits as well as times at University of Wisconsin. I was so happy that she and George were able to attend our daughters wedding in Atlanta in 2014.i enjoyed our phone conversations and emails and I am sorry that I didn’t get to spend more time with her in the last few years. I will always remember her smile and her special laugh. May her memory be a blesding

I remember Mrs Klein with much fondness. She was my third grade teacher at Hillel Torah and I can say to this day, she was the most creative and fun teacher I ever had. She had a very special talent of engaging her students. Hoping cherished memories will be some comfort during this difficult time.

We have known Susie Klein since the late 1980s. Susie was one of the kindest persons we ever met. She was a loving wife and dedicated mother. Her sweet smile could brighten any room and her spirit could bring so much joy. We’ll always remember Susie for her incredible kindness, warmth, and generosity. Her memory will live in our hearts forever.
