Ursula Ulrich (nee Wolff), 88, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to her family, a passion for literature, and a deep appreciation for the arts.

Born in Leipzig, Germany, in 1937, Ursula came to the United States at age three, growing up in Chicago and New York. A lifelong learner, she graduated from Hunter College High School and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago before going on to complete masters degrees in both English Literature and Library Science. Ursula channeled her love of knowledge into a fulfilling 20-year career as a reference librarian at the Wheaton Public Library.

Ursula was the beloved wife of Werner Ulrich, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they shared a love for reading, classical music, opera, ballet, and their cherished annual trips to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario.

She was the devoted mother of Greta Ulrich (Mark Ellis) and Kenneth Ulrich (Laura); cherished grandmother of Kayla Ulrich Bernstein (Joshua), Julia Ulrich, Dana Ulrich (Ian Bohn), Leah Ulrich, and Dylan Ellis; proud great-grandmother of Maya Bernstein; loving sister of Susan Wolff (the late George Coussoulos); dear sister-in-law of the late Ernest Ulrich (the late Margit) and caring aunt of Evan Coussoulos (Laurel Greene), Gregg DeMaria (Kaitlin), Kris DeMaria (Sara Page), Jodi Wolff-Coussoulos (Andy Jones), Lisa Ulrich (Seth Berman), and Nancy Ulrich (Micheál Dowling). Her presence will be deeply missed by all of her extended family and friends.

Ursula’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated caregivers – Michele, Aminata, Aicha – as well as her Hospice team for their exceptional care and support.
