Laura and I became friends when I moved down the hall from her at Presidential Towers in 1993 – we shared that hallway for 32 years. We spoke almost daily, and then weekly when I moved out in 2024. She was a valued friend – we took road trips together, including one to Florida where we had an epic time there and back – after dropping her off in Orlando where she rented a car – she did a loop around the state and we had much to converse about on the way home, and a memorable time / stop in Nashville. She joined my family on the QM2 in 2004 – and knew that ship better than anyone by the time we completed the cruise. We shared the love of food – she introduced me to Elawa Farm in Lake Forest – and I was a volunteer sous chef there for a time which I so enjoyed on a respite from technology consulting. We met up in Europe many times when were were traveling independently, but our itineraries overlapped. We spoke about all the cooking classes in the area – she did many on repeat but still never cooked at home! During COVID we kept each other sane – I fed her and others on the hallway, she in return did take-out and shared with me from some of her favorite restaurants around Chicago. I traveled once with her to a Who concert in Detroit – this usually very quiet and private woman danced, sang and rejoiced in their music – we even met some of the band prior to the concert randomly while have an early dinner! So many memories over so many years – she had a list of places and things to see/do – gone too soon, will miss her dearly.

Laura loved family gatherings and especially traditional Jewish cooking. She loved being with the elders in the family.

We went on a trip on the QM2 IN ITS INAUGURAL YEAR, 2004. Laura came with us and so enjoyed our crazy family. She ,also, visited our beach house at the Jersey Shore. She gifted me a beautiful green plate which I have displayed in our home. I will treasure it and her memory forever. Rest in peace, Laura
