Harvey Brin, 92, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, after a short illness. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Marcia (nee’ Rothleder) for 66 wonderful years; loving father of Marla (Carl Raymond), David (Tammy), and the late Alan; cherished “Zayde” of Ari, Ethan, and Zoey; adored son of the late Abraham and Frieda; much-loved brother of Gerald (Helen); treasured uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Harvey was born and raised in Chicago, where he first met his beloved Marcia at Marshall High School. Fate brought them back together after graduation at the wedding of a mutual friend, and from that moment, they began a beautiful life together. Harvey took great pride in providing for his family and was a devoted husband and loving father. While he cherished every role in his life, his greatest joy came from his marriage and the family he created with Marcia. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable happiness, and he treasured every moment he spent with them. Harvey had a deep love for Israel and enjoyed traveling the world alongside his dearest Marcia, creating a lifetime of treasured memories together. He loved skiing and playing golf, taking pleasure in skiing with his brother, teaching his grandsons to ski, going on the Leukemia Research Foundation fundraising ski trip, and continuing to ski black diamond runs until he was 90. He was a generous and caring person, always giving of himself to others. He was an example to all of integrity, hard work, and selflessness. Harvey never took kindness for granted and remained deeply grateful and appreciative for the care and compassion shown to him by his devoted care team. Memorial contributions may be made in Harvey’s memory to the Leukemia Research Foundation, www.leukemiarf.org, a cause that was especially near and dear to his heart. Harvey was deeply dedicated to the hope of finding a cure for leukemia in loving memory of his beloved son, Alan.
