Obituary

Leonard H. Colen, 96, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Eunice (née Geltner); loving father of Beth and Rick (Geanine); cherished “Papa” of Zachary and Jordan Dubow, Nicholas and Joseph Colen; dear brother of the late Jack (Arlene) and the late Robert (Joanne); treasured uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many. Leonard enjoyed staying active and believed fitness was the key to a long, fulfilling life. He worked out regularly and walked two miles every day. A natural jokester, Leonard loved making people smile and laugh. He enjoyed trips to the horse track and especially treasured going on cruises with his beloved Eunice. Above all else, he adored his family, and his proudest role in life was being “Papa” to his four amazing grandsons. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Glenkirk, www.glenkirk.org/donate or Our Place of New Trier, www.ourplaceofnewtrier.org/donate would be greatly appreciated. Graveside service, Monday, May 18, 2026; 1 PM at Shalom Memorial Park 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
