Reading thru what others have written, limits what I wanted to write, because it’s been said… and yes, she was all that and more! Knowing Claire , Burt , and the family enriched all of our lives. every time we visited, and that was often… because , yes I was one of her chlorine soaked morning friends. Every time we visited, and that was often , I learned more about love, laughter and the joy of life. knowing their four children is testament enough to be assured that they were raised by exceptional parents. ..Thank you Claire (for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful journey💕….Myrna Sherman

I learned this morning of the passing of Claire L. Stern, one of the most caring people I have ever known. She and her late husband, Burt were very dear friends. I first met Claire in June 1981 at the Society of Die Casting Engineers’ (SDCE) trade show in Cleveland, Ohio. Burt and I were there as members of the SDCE headquarters staff working the first of many wonderful conventions together.
To know Claire, Burt and their family was a special treat. My wife, Laura and I were part of the Stern’s extended family. We attended annual New Year’s Eve parties, family weddings and other simchas. We were frequently invited to the family home in Deerfield for Shabbat dinner and numerous holiday celebrations. Claire’s cooking style was certainly innovative. I grew accustom to it over the next 35 years when Burt and Claire were residing in north suburban Chicago.
Claire lived a rich and full life. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved and cared about her. May Claire L. Stern’s good name be for an eternal blessing for generations to come.

Claire will leave in me the memory of an exceptional person.
I have never seen her anything other than radiant with dynamism and joy. Nothing impossible for her!
She had this rare quality of being permanently, without anything appearing, attentive to the other. And knew how to say comfort or encouragement at the very moment of their need.
I have no doubt that everyone who knew her noticed her energy and optimism that she concretized by her ability to be “always ready to sing”.
From heaven, to heaven, our Gan Eden, his soul will continue to watch over his whole family to protect and cherish him.

I have wonderful memories of great celebrations with dearest Claire and Burt and the whole family and friends. Many years ago, Claire and Burt ensured that our parents Jacques and Ruby and I immigrated to the United States. Doing a huge amount of work, they remodeled their house so we could have the space needed to live with them, which we did for an entire year. Their love and commitment to family was infinite. May their memory be blessed. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Irene and family.

I especially remember Claire’s beautiful smile and love for music.
She will always remain in my heart as one of the loveliest women I have ever known.
A beautiful human being inside and out. She will be sorely missed.

Saw Claire every Tuesday evening during the summer at the Botanic Gardens to enjoy all the music. She was part of our group always. Also attended Claire’s annual New Year’s Eve party at her home. Attended her late in life Bat Mitzvah at Beth Shalom in Northbrook. Got to know her family and always loved her positive attitude. She made friends everywhere she went. Everyone knew Claire. She was truly an inspiration and I always told her I wanted to be like her when I grew up. She was a great wife to Bert, and a great mom to her kids. She will be missed by many. I always looked forward to her family newsletter. She kept us all informed of everyone’s activities and adventures. May her memory be for a blessing!
