Obituary
Pam grew up in Oak Park and raised her family in Deerfield. She was a proudly devoted teacher for many years at several schools including Solomon Schechter in Northbrook, IL and Village School in Round Lake, IL. An avid reader Pam was never without an active library card and a pile of checked out books.
Pam was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bernice and Marvin, to whom she was a doting daughter. From Marvin, she inherited her sunny disposition and the hop in her step. From Bernice, her ambition, sense of style and some would say her stubborn streak.
Though she was especially gifted with children, she was also a dog lover. Pam had a great sense of humor with a smile that lit up a room and will always be fondly remembered by all as never, ever leaving the house without perfectly applied makeup, painted nails and flawlessly styled hair.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Keshet, keshet.org. Graveside service, Wednesday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. For information, including a link to view the service, shiva or to leave condolences: Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, www.shalommemorial.org or (847) 255-3520.

Our parents were friends and we began our friendship as what I referred to as “diaper-baby” friends (basically from infancy on up through the years). I don’t ever remember her or her family not being a part of my life. We went to grammar school and high school together and socialized through our years at Oak Park Temple Sunday school, our Confirmation and OP Teens. I remember watching televised hockey games which was her passion (not mine)! A favorite memory was senior year when I went with Pam, her mom and my mom to Williamsburg for a fun vacation. Pam, Marion Martin (Smith) and me. That’s the way I remember us through the later years. I can’t believe she’s gone. I’ll always cherish my memories! Love!
