Obituary

Sheila Projansky, 86, passed peacefully July 11, 2026. It is with profound sadness, yet a sense of peace, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother. Dementia gradually stole so much from her during her later years, but as we say goodbye, we choose to remember the vibrant, spirited, and loving woman who enriched our lives. It is the memories of her strength, warmth, and joyful spirit that will remain with us always. Sheila was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Samuel and Jean; her brother, Dan; and her cherished eldest son, Kent. She is lovingly survived by her devoted sons, Todd (Laura) and Andrew (Courtney); her treasured grandchildren, Jared, Lindsay, Ryan, Matthew, Welles, and Lincoln; her sister-in-law, Carol; her nieces, Kim (Jeff) and Cindy (Kim); as well as many other dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends who will miss her deeply. To us, our mother was a woman of remarkable independence, resilience, and grace. She embraced life with enthusiasm, finding great joy in traveling, playing tennis, and skiing. Blessed with a quick wit and a warm, welcoming smile, she had a wonderful ability to brighten the lives of those around her. Her greatest pride was her family. She delighted in cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and took genuine interest in their accomplishments, dreams, and the everyday moments that made their lives special. Although our parents divorced when we were young, they found their way back to a deep friendship as our mother’s health declined. We would be remiss if we did not express our heartfelt gratitude to our father for the extraordinary kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion he showed during her final years. He visited faithfully, cared for her with dignity and tenderness, and even took her dancing-an enduring testament to the love, respect, and friendship they continued to share. Though dementia altered the course of her final chapter, it could never diminish the legacy of the woman she was. We will forever cherish her adventurous spirit, her strength, her laughter, and the unconditional love she gave to her family. Her memory will continue to inspire us, and she will remain forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Dementia Society www.dementiasociety.org Private graveside service, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
