Iris Wittenberg, nee Fegenhols, 90. Beloved wife for 54 years to the late Howard; devoted mother of Mitchell Wittenberg (Jaine Strauss), the late Penny Wittenberg (Gary Madonna), and Ted Wittenberg; treasured grandmother of Jacob Wittenberg (Kiffany Gardner), India Madonna (Ryan Gavel), Chloe Wittenberg (Luke Arnone), and Ella Madonna; proud great-grandmother of Archer Wittenberg; loving sister of Judy (the late Irv) Gross; caring aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Iris lived her life with gusto. She and Howard traveled the world and made friends with everyone they met. Spending time with children brought her immense joy, and she volunteered for many years in support of children’s health. After living for 61 years in the house where she raised her family in Highland Park, Iris moved to Minnesota for the last 8 months of her life. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the skill, warmth, and dedication of the extraordinary staff at the Commons on Marice and at Minnesota Hospice.
