Phyllis Reeva Sacks nee Gabbe, 86, beloved wife of the late Eric; loving mother of Elana (Ian) Boiskin and Jody (Sandy) Perl; cherished grandma of Gabrielle (Charlie) Pierre, Leanne Boiskin, Hannah (Eli) Perlmutter, David Perl and Lauren Perl; devoted daughter of the late Anne and Siegfried Gabbe; treasured friend of many.

While living in South Africa, Phyllis worked as an elementary school teacher, dedicating herself to nurturing and guiding young children. After coming to America, she continued her life of service through volunteer work, offering comfort and support to families in Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s surgical waiting room, caring for children at Fourth Presbyterian Church, and even serving with joy at Fox and Obel’s bakery. She had a deep love for animals, especially cats, and cherished her beloved Marmalade. Above all, Phyllis’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved wholeheartedly.
