Obituary

Arletta Leibowitz, 92, (née Douglass) beloved wife of the late Sidney Leibowitz, happily married for many wonderful decades; loving mother of Dianne (Bernard) Hardin and Aubrey Nichols; dear sister of Charles “Sonny” Douglass, Lynn Simmons and the late Richard Douglass; Arletta was a treasured aunt, cousin and friend to many. Arletta loved to travel, she visited over 30 countries. She was an avid vacation cruiser, who enjoyed gaming. She had luxury taste, only the best would do. Arletta was also an accomplished organist. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org http://www.heart.org and the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. Graveside service Thursday June 18, 2026, 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. To My friend Diane, I pray God will comfort you and give you peace. I never got the chance to meet your beautiful Mother, but through our friendship, I heard many wonderful things about her.
I’ve been where you are, but each hurt and pain is different. God is a healer and there’s nothing too hard for Him! Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal! There is no time frame on grief! Your heart has a lot of memories of your Mother! Keep them close and smile often, especially when you think of her!
