Sondra Natkin

Always enjoyed seeing Sondra at family gatherings that included friends too. She had a very warm smile and kind words to share. Our daughter, Jackie grew up with the family as she is a dear friend of her daughter Kara.

Sondra was an amazing organizer. She and her sister, my dear friend Trudy, had a business where they would organize people’s kitchens, bathrooms, and anything else that needed organizing. They were initially introduced to the idea through their father, who was obsessed with Tupperware.

Sondra came to my home twice—once when I was moving, and again when I was leaving Illinois. She was so good at what she did that I actually cried while parting with treasures that, truthfully, I no longer needed. In many ways, it was very therapeutic.

Much of my home today still has Sondra’s touch, as well as her beliefs about how things should be. She came from a time when people took the time to do things the old-fashioned way. They didn’t always look for shortcuts; they took pride in doing things carefully and thoughtfully.

She was so patient with me, especially when it came to the issues we had in common. I will miss her for the rest of my life. What a special friend she was!
