Obituary

Steve Sadowsky, 68, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in Crown Point, Indiana. Beloved partner and best friend of Karen Kister for 39 wonderful years; much-loved brother of the late Karen and the late Sherri (Donald) Kwiatkowski; cherished uncle of Darren Kwiatkowski and Keith (Melissa) Kwiatkowski; adored son of the late Eli and Anne Sadowsky and treasured friend of many. Steve met the love of his life through his trucking company in the south suburbs of Chicago. It was love at first sight, beginning a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, and devotion. A hardworking man throughout his life, Steve was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and genuine concern for others. He enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises with Karen, but was happiest at home enjoying one of her home-cooked meals. Steve also loved a friendly game of backgammon and treasured the simple moments spent with those he loved most. Steve’s warmth, loyalty, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Memorial donations in Steve’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org. Chapel service Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Randhill Park Cemetery.
